Luke Mangan and BridgeClimb Take Dining to New Heights On Sydney Harbour Bridge’s First Pop-Up Resta
On Wednesday 12th October, Australian restaurateur Luke Mangan took on the role of top chef, serving three of his culinary masterpieces at the first ever pop-up restaurant on the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Serving three bite-size courses, 134 metres above the harbour, Mangan, who this month became the first chef in the world to have his food on planes, trains, ships and shore, now proudly adds The Sydney Habour Bridge to his impressive restaurant location repertoire.
Mangan handpicked and specially customised three of his signature dishes to meet BridgeClimb’s stringent safety requirements: Luke’s Signature Kingfish Sashimi, Organic egg crab omelette, enoki mushroom & herb salad, miso mustard broth, and Australian Lamingtons.
Mangan said “It’s been a massive few months for my team and I, with our restaurants now officially found on planes, trains, ships and shore across 5 countries… with that in mind, it only seems fitting to now also take our food to the top of Australia’s iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge! Showcasing Australia’s finest produce via our signature dishes most definitely compliments this amazing view of our beautiful city!”
Jin Zexin from Guangzhou, China, a Sydney resident of 6 years, and Samantha Strachan from Jervis Bay, NSW were invited to enjoy some of Australia’s best food and best views.
Zexin said at the summit, “This is the most incredible dinning experience. Each of the three courses were unbelievably delicious and I can’t imagine a more breathtaking view or more Australian location to enjoy this moment from.”
BridgeClimb, who has hosted famous chefs including British chefs Jamie Oliver and Willie Harcourt-Cooze and Indian’s Sanjeev Kapoor on Climbs, was delighted to invite Luke Mangan to take up the unprecedented role and demonstrate the sky-high possibilities to tailor the Bucket List experience.
This is BridgeClimb’s second venture into the culinary space, following The Canape Climb; a tailored experience inviting corporate groups to scale the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and taste specially created catering delights at the summit.
BridgeClimb’s suite of bespoke corporate client experiences expanded last year with a range of pre, during and post-climb enhancement packages, that encompass branding, hospitality and audio visual options in one holistic package, for corporate entertaining, team building and incentive events.
Mangan and BridgeClimb also share the quest striving for excellence with the Asian Market. Luke has developed the largest number of restaurants in Asia comparatively to any other Australian chef, with presence in China, Singapore
Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia and the Maldives.
With more than 1 million Chinese visitors to Australia in the last 12 months, BridgeClimb has a particularly strong offering for China was a daily Climb led by Mandarin Speaking Climb Leaders especially for Chinese and Taiwanese Climbers and has in the last few years put on several one-off and limited run special events for Asia including, The Karaoke Climb for Chinese New Year, Diwali the Hindu Festival of Light and a Chinese Water Drum Celebration.
