BridgeClimb’s Internationally Accredited Safety System is Recognised at the 2009 WorkCover NSW SafeW
BridgeClimb Sydney’s internationally accredited safety system placed them as a finalist in the category for the ‘Best workplace health and safety management system (Private Sector)’ at the 2009 WorkCover NSW SafeWork Awards held on Wednesday 28th October 2009.
In August 2008, BridgeClimb became the only Australian tourist attraction to receive both the OHSAS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801 = safety system certificates from Det Norske Veritas. Receiving these achievements further drove the company to compete in the SafeWork Awards.
BridgeClimb was placed as a finalist in its category alongside several impressive organisations including OneSteel, Country Energy, Darling Harbour Convention & Exhibition Centre Pty Limited, St Vincents & Mater Health Sydney, RTA, Sydney Catchment Authority, Tomago Aluminium, Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation and the University of Wollongong.
The WorkCover NSW SafeWork Awards recognise excellence in workplace health and safety. This year, the Awards received a record 119 submissions across the five categories.
“It was overwhelming to have our safety system recognised in this way by WorkCover” said BridgeClimb’s Managing Director, Todd Coates at the Awards. “We truly feel like a mouse that roared with the lions. It is a tribute to the perspiration and continuous innovation that all of our team members contribute to BridgeClimb’s safety system.”
