Australian Survivor’s Final Challenge Climbing The Sydney Harbour Bridge
On the eve of Thursday 5th October, seven of Australian Survivor 2017’s jury members reunited in Sydney and took on their final challenge, journeying to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Rather than going head-to-head in pursuit of an idol, contestants Locky, Ziggy, Henry, Sarah, Tessa, Anneliese and Jared united as a team in pursuit of an icon and all came out winners.
The 1,300 steps were light work for the competitors, who had battled it out on the Network Ten family entertainment series in multiple physical and endurance challenges to win rewards and eviction immunity.
Their reward upon reaching the top, 134 metres above the sparkling harbour, was a 360 degree view of the great city.
While no strangers to natural beauty, having been marooned in a tropical location for 55 days, the castaways were delighted to be enjoying the beauty of their home country and one of the world’s most beautiful natural harbours.
Proud Aussie man and final-five competitor, Locky Gilbert said, “Australian Survivor was the experience of a life time and something I will never forget, but it’s great to be home with friends and family in this great country – and could the view of it be any better than from the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
“I’m an adventures man, and here I am, together with a group of fantastic people taking on another once-in-a-life-time experience, climbing one of the world’s most recognisable icons. We’re all feeling like winners today.”
The series stars walked in the footsteps of famous athletes, celebrities and royalty who have climbed the famous steel arches before them whilst in Sydney.
They were taken to the top safely by a BridgeClimb Climb Leader, revealing the secrets of the City and history of the harbour and the construction of the Bridge in the 1930s, making a few photo stops along the way to remember the experience by.
BridgeClimb offers a truly memorable experience, perfect for special occasions, family adventures, team building and corporate events. Information on and tickets for all BridgeClimb experiences are available at www.bridgeclimb.com or call (02) 8274 7777.
Australian Survivor continues Sunday, October 8 at 7.30pm on TEN.
