The best things to do on Australia Day’s long weekend

With Australia Day falling on a Friday this year, there’s a long weekend to look forward to; so make the most of the three days with our list of the best things to do around Sydney!

    1. Enjoy the Australia Day Festivities! Make your way to one of the many vantage points around Sydney Harbour to watch the Aussie Day events. Some of our favourites include the Ferrython at 10.45 am, the Red Berets’ parachute display at 1.15pm and the Circular Quay fireworks at 9pm.
    1. Watch some tennis: if you couldn’t make it to the Australian Open, you can still watch the tennis finals live from Melbourne on a big screen. Head to Custom House Square this weekend to watch all the action.
    2. Enjoy the last weekend of Sydney Festival. Pay a visit to the Festival Village in Hyde Park before it wraps up for another year on Sunday. You could catch a show at the Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent or belt out your favourite tune in the Carousel Karaoke.
