What is Vivid SYDNEY?

Vivid Sydney is an annual creative festival focusing on music, ideas, food and of course light. The world-famous festival features a diverse line-up of musical artists, thought-provoking talks and workshops from some of the world’s most interesting thought-leaders. Each evening throughout Vivid Sydney, the city comes alive with mesmerising light projections displayed on and around iconic Sydney buildings from the Opera House to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

When is Vivid SYDNEY?

Vivid runs for 23 days and nights from 24 May – 15 June 2024, with a lights on moment of 6pm each evening.

As you ascend above the city's hustle and bustle to the Summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, you'll be treated to unmissable 360-views with scenes of the shimmering Harbour and the iconic skyline unfolding before you, every moment is a postcard-perfect masterpiece.

2. Vivid sydney PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCES AT THE PYLON LOOKOUT

Capture the magic of Vivid Sydney with BridgeClimb's exclusive Vivid Sydney Photography Experiences, brought to you in partnership with Sydney Photographic Workshops.

Offering the perfect blend of spectacular views and expert guidance, these one-of-a-kind photography experiences held at the top of the South-East Pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, are perfectly curated for enthusiasts looking to elevate their photography skills whilst capturing images from an unbeatable vantage point, high above the city's vibrant lights.

3. love is in the air: vivid sydney drone show 

Get ready for the skies above Circular Quay to be filled with 700 drones, as they gracefully dance across the night sky, creating symbols of love in Vivid Sydney's Drone Show 'Love Is In The Air'. Love Is In The Air will dazzle Vivid Sydney spectators on the 8th, 9th and 15th of June from 9.10pm. (Weather may impact start times). 

4. Get out and about on the Vivid light walk

Check out the mesmerizing spectacle of 8 kilometres of Vivid Light installations illuminating the city and Harbourfront, including the breath-taking lighting of the sails of the Sydney Opera House, this year wrapped in artist Julia Gutman’s textural work, Echo. Stroll through a luminous wonderland around Circular Quay, The Rocks, Walsh Bay, and Barangaroo, with dazzling light displays all woven around this year's theme of Humanity.

5. discover the magic of the unfair advantage AT the pylon lookout

Prepare to be amazed by a world-class performance within Sydney's hidden gem, the Pylon Lookout & Museum, that'll leave you wondering... how did he do that? The Unfair Advantage at the Pylon Lookout offers an intimate and captivating theatrical experience that promises to astound. Harry Milas, renowned for his mastery of illusion, will unveil the secrets behind his incredible skills with the dazzling backdrop of Vivid Sydney!

6. head underground into the dark spectrum

The underground mazes of the Wynyard Tunnels will be transformed into an immersive world of lasers, lanterns and light displays alongside an epic dance soundtrack during Vivid Sydney. Dark Spectrum: A New Journey consists of 8 different chambers of light, sound and colour, beginning in Wynyard Park and finishing up on Cumberland Street, just up the road from BridgeClimb.

7. experience luna park in the dark 

Just across the Harbour from BridgeClimb, you'll find another of Sydney's most iconic locations, Luna Park. During the Vivid Sydney Festival, you can enjoy all your favourite rides by moonlight as well as Concerts by Candlelight under the classic Big Top, immersive sound and light displays, and glow in the dark desserts!

8. join the conversation with amy poehler AT THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

Step into an evening of wit and wisdom as the Sydney Opera House hosts the incomparable Amy Poehler for the exclusive Vivid Sydney Presents: In Conversation with Amy Poehler. Renowned for her Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning talents, Poehler, the multifaceted actress, writer, director, producer, and author, graces the stage to offer a captivating glimpse into the intricacies of humanity, which will also include an exclusive sneak peek at Disney and Pixar's much-anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2.
